I love getting a pumpkin from a real pumpkin patch. Christian loved it too and ran from one perfect beautiful pumpkin to the next, until he found one with a scar on it. A scar like Christian has, and Darth Vader, and Harry Potter. His Aunt Corrina joined us for the day and willingly played &#8220;star wars&#8221; by ducking around giant old oaks, chestnuts, and cedars and aiming pretend guns (sticks) at the enemies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1346.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3567\" title=\"IMG_1346\" src=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1346-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1346-224x300.jpg 224w, http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1346-764x1024.jpg 764w, http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1346.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>Then, we drove to Ganma and Ganpy&#8217;s house in Joshua Tree. The next morning was &#8220;Apple Days&#8221; at Darlene&#8217;s house, which was several hours of singing, story-telling, and apple turnover-making. We ended up staying to hike the 2-mile Split Rock trail and having a delicious BBQ chicken dinner. We saw our first wild tarantula of the season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_6319.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3571\" title=\"IMG_6319\" src=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_6319-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_6319-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_6319-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1354.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3572\" title=\"IMG_1354\" src=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1354-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1354-224x300.jpg 224w, http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1354-764x1024.jpg 764w, http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1354.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>Saturday was Open Studios Tour and then the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zirconwish.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Zircon Wish Circus<\/a> at night! Corrina stitched all my little videos of the circus into one longer one &#8211; the circus was next-door to Ganma and Gampy&#8217;s house, so we could walk right over.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fXywyB_sIpE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\nThe next morning I rolled out of bed to drive down to San Bernardino to pick up Chad &#8211; he&#8217;d taken the opportunity to bike 73 miles.<br \/>\nOn the way home we stopped to do a Trader Joe&#8217;s shop in Irvine. Dinner was at the famous Berkely Dog (fancy hot dogs) and dessert was pumpkin pie-flavored Yogurtland.<br \/>\nYup. That was one busy weekend.
