Chad and I give it a hearty<strong> A-<\/strong>. Mirren is in the running for Best Actress. I also enjoyed the directing. I had forgotten about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001241\/\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Frears<\/a> or maybe after his dark venture into the seedy underbelly of organ theft <em>Dirty, Pretty, Things<\/em> I had stopped considering him somebody I had to follow (not because of the quality, but because I was freaked for a while after that film).<\/p>\n<p>But now I remember I have liked a bunch of his films, including <em>My Beautiful Laundrette<\/em> (1985), <em>Prick Up Your Ears<\/em> (1987), <em>Dangerous Liaisons<\/em> (his big leap into Hollywood money), <em>The Grifters<\/em>&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saw The Queen today with Helen Mirren.
