{"id":607,"date":"2007-03-10T16:15:30","date_gmt":"2007-03-10T21:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/womantalk.wordpress.com\/2007\/03\/10\/say-no-to-plastic-bags\/"},"modified":"2007-03-10T16:15:30","modified_gmt":"2007-03-10T21:15:30","slug":"say-no-to-plastic-bags","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/?p=607","title":{"rendered":"Say No To Plastic Bags"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I have long been an advocate of bringing my own grocery bags to the market, I decided to take on <a href=\"http:\/\/littlemissc.blogspot.com\/2007\/03\/bag-count-jane-issued-challenge-and-i.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tiffany&#8217;s March challenge<\/a> and really count how many plastic bags I was letting creep into my life in one month&#8217;s time.<\/p>\n<p>So far, just one. But I find that it&#8217;s not the grocery store that gets me; it&#8217;s when I go to the mall that I end up with enormous amounts of plastic packaging. I have not yet found a way to deal with my mall habit&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And yesterday I politely refused a plastic bag at the market and the sales clerk promptly stuffed the unused bag in the garbage! What a waste.
