{"id":665,"date":"2007-04-15T22:15:16","date_gmt":"2007-04-16T03:15:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/womantalk.wordpress.com\/2007\/04\/15\/mazel-tov\/"},"modified":"2007-04-15T22:15:16","modified_gmt":"2007-04-16T03:15:16","slug":"mazel-tov","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.womantalk.org\/?p=665","title":{"rendered":"Mazel Tov!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have made some more wedding progress: Chad and I agreed upon an officiant, Dr. Inge Davidson of the Church of Cosmic Energy Exchange and she has agreed to perform our ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>So now we begin thinking about the ceremony and the vows. I have attended very few weddings in my life, and Chad&#8217;s attended even fewer. Will we write our own vows? Will we use modified traditional vows? I have no idea.<\/p>\n<p>Some thoughts\/suggestions from other friends:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that Chad and I have time together alone before the ceremony &#8211; perhaps arrive at the site together.<\/li>\n<li>Address each other at the ceremony.<\/li>\n<li>Think about music (somebody playing guitar?), poetry, any readings or speeches we might want.<\/li>\n<li>Keep it happy and fun.<\/li>\n<li>Think about how we may (or may not) include Bella (this will depend on whether she wants to be included&#8230;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And I will have to do some minor investigating to get a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us\/acr\/marriage.asp\" target=\"_blank\">San Bernardino County marriage license<\/a> in advance. I was cautioned that I will have to know the date of my divorce. (Nope, only need that info if the divorce was within the last year.)<\/p>\n<p>Also, the majority of the invitations are ready to put in the post tomorrow.
