anybody have a record player?

08-21-06_2115.jpg I take it back; it’s not a piece of a record, but a very flimsy whole record, the size of a single. And this is no average exhibition catalog, but a monumental historical record of sound in art (organized around the concept of the record) written in German, English, and French. My god, there is even a 200-page encyclopedic “Artist’s Recordworks” compendium from Vito Acconci to Lawrence Weiner and a chronological history from 1858 (Leon Scott develops the phonoautograph) to 1989 (exhibition Broken Music). Wow.
